Actual Budget role

Deploy Actual Budget, a local-first personal finance manager with synchronization capabilities, via Traefik reverse proxy.

Usage

Include the role in your playbook:

Configuration Details

The role deploys Actual Budget with: - Image: gitea.rwcloud.ch/official-docker-images/actualbudget/actual-server:latest - Traefik Integration: Automatic HTTPS via Traefik reverse proxy - Persistent Storage: Budget data and sync files - Direct Port Access: Port 5006 exposed for local access - Network: Connects to external proxy network

Accessing Actual Budget

After deployment, Actual Budget is available at: - Web UI: https://budget.rwcloud.ch - Direct Access: http://docker-host:5006

Storage

One volume is created: - actual_data - Contains all budget files, user data, and sync information

First-Time Setup

On first access: 1. Open https://budget.rwcloud.ch 2. Create a new budget file or import existing 3. Set up your accounts and categories 4. Configure bank sync (optional, requires SimpleFIN or similar) 5. Start tracking your finances!

Mobile Apps

Actual Budget has mobile apps that can sync to your server: - iOS: Available on App Store - Android: Available on Google Play

Configure sync in the mobile app: - Sync URL: https://budget.rwcloud.ch - Sync File: Select your budget file

Data Privacy

Actual Budget is local-first: - All data stored in your own infrastructure - Sync happens directly between your devices and server - No third-party access to your financial data - Full control over your budget information

Backup

Your budget data is stored in the actual_data volume. Regular backups recommended:
